These rules supplement Kakodo's Terms of use. The /shared-ride section lets drivers independently offer spare seats and passengers find offers and contact their authors. Kakodo technically hosts and displays user adverts, but does not offer rides in its own name, provide or organise them, or become a party to any ride agreement.

We do not verify identities, driving documents, vehicle condition, insurance or the accuracy of each offer. An advert, a sent email or code-based access does not mean a participant has been checked, recommended or approved.

Viewing an advert, revealing contacts and submitting a request do not reserve a seat or oblige a driver to take a passenger. A sending confirmation only means the email service accepted the message for sending; delivery, reading and a reply are not guaranteed. A connection failure may leave the result unknown, and retrying may create a duplicate.

Participants directly agree pick-up and drop-off points, times, route, seats, luggage, any contribution to costs and cancellation arrangements. Kakodo does not collect payments, set prices, guarantee refunds or resolve disputes in place of participants. Confirm arrangements before travelling.

Only adults aged 18 or over may post offers and send requests. You may submit another passenger's data only with the necessary authority and permission. Responsible adults must arrange the accompaniment and safe transport of minors.

Drivers are responsible for a valid entitlement to drive, lawful transport, vehicle roadworthiness, permitted passenger numbers, required insurance and accurate adverts. Offer only rides you actually intend to make, update available seats and close cancelled offers. Comply with applicable permit, tax and insurance requirements; sharing a ride does not remove them.

Passengers are responsible for accurate requests, agreed conduct and arriving on time. Both sides must comply with the law and road safety rules, treat each other respectfully and communicate changes of plan. Fake adverts, fraud, spam and others' contacts without permission are prohibited.

Drivers choose the contact method. With contact disclosure enabled, we store the selected contacts and release them on a visitor's separate request to discuss the ride. We apply rate limits and Cloudflare Turnstile checks after limits are exceeded, but cannot guarantee that an automated system or dishonest visitor will not obtain the contacts. The advert management email is not shown to passengers.

By selecting email requests, the driver instructs us to forward responses to the address provided for their rides. The passenger's name, contacts, seat count and message are sent only to that driver through Brevo, without recording request content in the application's database, queue or logs. Email providers and the recipient may retain copies. The Privacy policy explains retention and participants' rights.

Use received contacts only to discuss the relevant ride. Unsolicited marketing, bulk collection, sale and publication of others' data are prohibited. Do not put contacts, addresses or other information you do not want every visitor to see in the public ride description.

Participants assess each other and decide to travel at their own risk. Rides may be cancelled, delayed or changed; no-shows, refusal, fraud, accidents and loss of property are possible. Decline a ride if you have safety concerns.

Kakodo does not provide insurance for participants, vehicles, luggage or rides, and does not guarantee a driver's policy. Participants must check the existence and scope of necessary cover themselves. We do not promise replacement transport, compensation, recovery or roadside assistance.

To the extent permitted by law, Kakodo is not responsible for performance of a ride, participants' conduct, or harm and costs resulting from their actions or broken agreements. The exceptions and mandatory rights in the Liability section of the Terms of use apply; these rules do not remove liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
